Challenge
easyJet's flight search delivers relevant results quickly. The conversion problem was downstream: high-intent travellers were selecting a price on the results page, advancing to fare detail or seat selection, and then exiting without completing the booking. Exit data pointed toward pricing surprises rather than schedule or destination concerns.
Taxes and booking fees only appeared at the payment screen — several steps after initial flight selection. The 'Standard' and 'Flexi' fare labels were not explained inline, requiring a click to understand what each included. On mobile, the 'Select' button shared visual weight with promotional cross-sells for car hire and hotel bundles.
